I’m Chloe Ariana Jepsen, and Chasing Cultures is the result of a lifelong fascination with how our environments shape who we are and who we can become.
Currently a student who loves to research secularly, spiritually, and globally. I currently work at DCS of New York by day and a pizzeria by night, attend school, and spend my days studying, dancing, researching, and having fun. As a former exchange student, I have seen firsthand the psychological challenges and beauty of cultural immersion.
Chasing Cultures began as a personal journal and has evolved into a vision for a global organization. Whether I am writing a theoretical paper or documenting the history of a tradition, my goal is the same: to provide clarity, create a community, and “Chase Culture” in a way to truly help as many as possible.
I grew up asking why, and hating simple answers. I was the girl to over analyze every situation, ask complex questions, and I researched any answer that did not settle well with me.
As found within some of my blogs, I was raised within a religion that truly fostered community, faith, and honesty. This created a multitude of my morals, anything from no stealing, to even having a deep desire in ensuring the world is safe for everyone around me. Now don’t get me wrong, I question things here too, but I do recognize this is a leading factor in the person I am today.
I strive to always grow, help, and genuinely see the human in everyone.
I have a lot of personal theories, anything from the penny theory – you can change someone’s day for less than a cent, lady bug theory – positivity is an attracting force, all the way to atom theory – we are one with the world around us. Each of these theories can be found within my blog, or my podcast. However, these are the theories I have learned throughout my life, the consistencies, frequencies, ideas, and the things that drive my day to day life. I see the reality of the world, but I also see the potential for unity it has.
We are not all perfect, and each of us hold very different opinions, but finding a world where we can accept these differences – embrace these differences – is the world Chasing Cultures is reaching for.
